The problem
Red projects are typically edited using proxy files.
Once your cut is finished, each clip used needs to be rendered in high quality from the original R3D footage in order to grade.
However, neither of the rendering tools RED ALERT or RED CINE can load in an EDL, and so you are forced to either render all the footage from your shoot, or load each clip in by hand.
|
The solution
Monkey Extract automates the rendering process. It can load an EDL, and only renders the footage from your cut.
This allows you to use any combination of editing software and grading platform to grade your RED footage.
